Phd in Canadian Studies

Published by flit at 9:05 pm under Grad School Edit This

Not IN in yet…but I’m one step closer :)

Got an email today with an update re: my application…

Made it past stage 1 … now it goes to a meeting with the other university that is involved in the program (it is a joint degree, awarded by Carleton & Trent)

The doctoral program in Canadian Studies is offered jointly by the Frost Centre for Canadian Studies and Indigenous Studies at Trent University and by the School of Canadian Studies at Carleton University.

The Ph.D. program offers five fields of study: Culture, Literature, and the Arts; Environment and Heritage; Policy, Economy and Society; Identities; and Women’s Studies. The program, drawing upon the faculty of the two academic units and universities, encompasses course requirements, comprehensive examinations, and a thesis.

One of my two areas will be Culture, Literature and the Arts… the second is tougher… probably Identities…but am also interested in Environment & Heritage and Women’s Studies…
